Bloom V Show - Coast Collective

Last April I was fortunate to spend a week in Phoenix,

all the cacti in bloom!

filled with tired people running errands.

I tried making baba ghanoush for an event this past week-end, but I ended up not serving it. It didn't look at all like the picture.  I am much happier with the painting and I'm glad to say that it will be in the "Food for Thought" Show at the Coast Collective, Sept 21 to Oct 9

Art Changeover Coast Collective

Three framed monotypes ready for the changeover at Juan De Fuca Rec Centre and Crossroads Pub & Grill. Left to Right  "Memories of Kauai", "Dreams of Africa" & "Valley Fields". The detail isn't great but a different perspective is always good.

Coast Collective Show

Still experimenting with oils, I used a palette knife to create texture in this painting, it has a different look because it's painted on board instead of canvas. I find the surfaces I paint on have a definite say on the outcome of my work.

It is included in the Coast Collective show, the opening is Saturday July 10th from 2-4. The show runs from today until the 18th.

This painting along with "Last Light" are the two other paintings I have at the Juan de Fuca Centre.

The associate members from the "Coast Collective" have a show at this location and another one at the Crossroads Pub in Colwood. I would encourage you to go and have a look. Also go and visit the gallery and gift shops at the Coast Collective Centre. Check out their website for more info.
